Baseball Recap: Grace Christian School Beats Grove Christian School for Their Fifth Straight Win

Grace Christian School had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Grove Christian School Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-2 last Tuesday.

Braxten Lawrence made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Best, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. C.B. Price also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Grace Christian School pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Grove Christian School, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian School will square off against The New Community School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grove Christian School, they will host The Carmel School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
