Basketball Recap: Penncrest Lions vs. Neumann-Goretti Saints
Penncrest and Neumann-Goretti squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Penncrest had to settle for second. They fell 76-69 to the Saints. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Saints are ranked eighth).
DeShawn Yates was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-14 on his way to 34 points along with five assists and five steals for Neumann-Goretti. Those 34 points gave Yates a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alassan N'Diaye, who shot 45% from the field en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.
