Basketball Recap: Roeper Takes a Loss

Roeper lost against Lutheran Northwest back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Roeper Roughriders came up short against the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders, falling 54-30. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Crusaders are ranked 136th).

Roeper has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Lutheran Northwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roeper will square off against Oakland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roeper is facing Oakland Christian at the right time seeing as Oakland Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lutheran Northwest, they will face off against Plymouth Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Plymouth Christian Academy has won three straight at home, while Lutheran Northwest won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
