Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Catholic Central beat East Grand Rapids 57-51. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Pioneers are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills came up short against Forest Hills Northern on Friday and fell 71-58. The Bengals have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Catholic Central pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Ottawa Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Catholic Central suffered a grim 79-55 defeat to Ottawa Hills in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Catholic Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
