Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Area Pioneers vs. DeForest Norskies

The Westfield Area Pioneers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the DeForest Norskies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Westfield Area will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, Westfield Area earned a 54-43 win over Middleton. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Cardinals are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeForest). They blew past McFarland 77-42 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Norskies.

Westfield Area's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for DeForest, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
