Monte Vista came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Alamosa, but Victor Zepeda wouldn't allow it. The Alamosa Mean Moose secured a 50-44 W over the Monte Vista Pirates on Tuesday thanks to Zepeda, who went 8-for-18 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Alamosa's points.

Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Burciaga, who posted nine points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Monte Vista still got an impressive performance from Azariah Hurtado, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Monte Vista is 6-2 when Hurtado posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-7 otherwise. Kaden Mellott was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Alamosa's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-17. As for Monte Vista, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
