Basketball Recap: Oberlin Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lake Ridge Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oberlin). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-36 victory over the Lake Ridge Academy Royals. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Josiah Bowen-Pride continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Smith, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 21 points.

Oberlin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Oberlin's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Lake Ridge Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oberlin will challenge Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oberlin is facing Valley Forge at the right time seeing as Valley Forge is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Lake Ridge Academy, they will take on Christian Community at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
