Softball Recap: Washington Pam Pack vs. West Bladen Knights

Washington had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Bladen Knights a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Washington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Emma Orr was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Orr has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Orr was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, Peyton Youmans and Carly Woolard did most of the damage at the plate: Youmans scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Woolard went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Elks, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

The win was the tenth in a row for Washington, bringing their record for this year to 17-3. As for West Bladen, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Washington will take on Heide Trask on Friday. Washington is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. West Bladen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
