Recap: Maple Valley Lions vs. Calhoun Christian Cougars
The Maple Valley Lions won the last time they faced the Calhoun Christian Cougars, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Maple Valley came out on top against Calhoun Christian by a score of 56-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maple Valley.
Maple Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ayden Wilkes led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wilkes has scored at least 25% of Maple Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake McDonald , who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Maple Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Calhoun Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Valley will take on Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calhoun Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
