Baseball Recap: St. Louis HomeSchool P Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous four meetings between St. Louis HomeSchool P and Granite City, and Granite City kept the tradition alive. The Patriots fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Soren Johnson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last six matches.

On the hitting side, St. Louis HomeSchool P saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Jung, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

St. Louis HomeSchool P has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Granite City, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Louis HomeSchool P will venture away from home to square off against Sikeston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Granite City, they will head out to face off against Collinsville at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
