Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Valley Skates Past Argyle with Ease

After losing to Argyle the last time they met, Hawthorne Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hawthorne Valley Wildcats couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 65-38 blowout they got against the Argyle Scots. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Hawthorne Valley had a senior duo take command as Oliver Towe posted 16 points and Noah Vom Stein had 16 points. The game was Vom Stein's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Francis Newlin, who earned eight points.

The win made it two in a row for Hawthorne Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-5. As for Argyle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Hawthorne Valley will challenge Hudson Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Argyle, they will take on Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Argyle is facing Lake George at the right time seeing as Lake George is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
