Softball Recap: Stroudsburg Takes a Loss

Stroudsburg has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.77 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Freedom Patriots, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mountaineers have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Stroudsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Cook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. Dorothy Elko was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Stroudsburg's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Freedom, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Stroudsburg will face off against Pocono Mountain East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Freedom, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nazareth Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
