Soccer Game Preview: Castle View vs. Heritage

The Castle View Sabercats are taking a road trip to take on the Heritage Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Castle View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Rock Canyon, who was ranked 14th at the time (Castle View was ranked third). The Sabercats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Monday. The loss continues a trend for Castle View in their meetings with Rock Canyon: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite a strong season so far, Heritage has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountain Vista. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Heritage couldn't quite close it out.

Castle View's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-2. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-3-2.

Castle View came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Sabercats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
