Soccer Recap: Douglass Comes Up Short

Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 6-2 to the Hillcrest Vikings.

Josh Maldonado wasn't going to let Hillcrest walk away unscathed as he scored both of Douglass' goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hillcrest, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Coming up, Douglass will venture away from home to square off against Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Douglass will be up against Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova's rather soft defense (which has allowed 9.5 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hillcrest, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against White Station at 6:00 p.m.
