Baseball Recap: Central Mountain Makes It Five in a Row at Home

On Friday Central Mountain's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Punxsutawney Chucks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-4 on Friday.

Jase Seltzer was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Central Mountain's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.8 runs thus far. As for Punxsutawney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

Central Mountain and Punxsutawney should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Wildcats will square off against Bellefonte at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 175). Meanwhile, Punxsutawney (ranked 49th) will meet Bradford (ranked 473rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
