Recap: American Patriots vs. Miami Springs Golden Hawks
The American Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 86-34 victory over Miami Springs. Given American's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Miami Springs is ranked 752nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
American was led to victory by Angel Torres and Alexandre Brigitte. Torres scored 13 points along with five steals, while Brigitte scored 19 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brigitte scored 15 or more points. Omar Baqai was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for American and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Miami Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
American will head out on the road to square off against Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miami Springs, they will be playing at home against Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edison is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
