Soccer Game Preview: Metamora vs. Normal University + Official Tickets

The Metamora Redbirds will face off against the Normal University Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

After two halves, Metamora and Normal Community settled for a 1-1 draw.

The Redbirds' goal came courtesy of John Jones, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Normal University managed to keep up with Peoria Notre Dame until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pioneers lost 4-1 to the Irish. While losing is never fun, Normal University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Peoria Notre Dame are ranked 28th).

Metamora's draw makes their record 9-6-5 this season. As for Normal University, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10-4.

Metamora came out on top in a nail-biter against Normal University in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Redbirds repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
