Baseball Recap: Nelson County Takes a Loss

Nelson County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Buffalo Gap on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 8-7. The Governors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Ledger Goodwin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Brody Clements was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Nelson County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Buffalo Gap, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Coming up, Nelson County will be playing at home against Parry McCluer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buffalo Gap, they will head out to square off against Fort Defiance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
