Recap: Brunswick Pirates vs. Glynn Academy Terrors
The Brunswick Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glynn Academy. While losing is never fun, Brunswick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Glynn Academy is ranked 53rd).
Despite the loss, Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Joshua Daniel, who scored 23 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Daniel scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Poole, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Brunswick has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Glynn Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Brunswick won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grovetown at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Grovetown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. Glynn Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Effingham County at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
