Baseball Recap: Capitol Hill Sets Scoring Season-High Against Douglass

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Capitol Hill). They put the hurt on the Douglass Trojans with a sharp 14-4 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Redwolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Ashton Sims, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacob Arispe, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Capitol Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Capitol Hill's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Douglass, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Capitol Hill will take on Putnam City North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Douglass, they will challenge Mount St. Mary at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
