Basketball Recap: Albert Lea Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Warren-Alvarado-Oslo

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Albert Lea Tigers beat the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies 66-62. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Ponies are ranked 88th).

Albert Lea's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Albert Lea will finish 2024 at home by hosting Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Triton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Badger/Greenbush-Middle River at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
