Basketball Game Preview: Rappahannock County vs. Clarke County Eagles

Rappahannock County will take on the Clarke County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Wednesday, Rappahannock County came up short against Central Woodstock and fell 51-42. While losing is never fun, Rappahannock County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Central Woodstock is ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, Clarke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Page County.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Rappahannock County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

Rappahannock County was able to grind out a solid victory over Clarke County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 60-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rappahannock County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
