Ocean Lakes came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bayside Marlins 64-14. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th in Virginia, while the Marlins are ranked 326th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ocean Lakes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samara Williams out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Ocean Lakes is 12-6 when Williams posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Maddi Fisher was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Ocean Lakes pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points over those games. As for Bayside, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Ocean Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 81-36 defeat against Deep Creek on the 25th. Bayside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
