Basketball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 39th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt an 86-16 defeat at the hands of the Baldwin Braves. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-6.

Despite the loss, Westside still got an impressive performance from Camren Phelps, who posted seven points.

Baldwin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kassidy Neal led the charge by going 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuri Grant, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points and five steals.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Baldwin, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Westside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-23 defeat against Hephzibah on the 4th. Baldwin has also already played their next match, a 49-34 victory against Washington County on the 1st.
