Basketball Game Preview: Armuchee Indians vs. Coosa Eagles

Armuchee is 2-8 against Coosa since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Armuchee Indians will be playing at home against the Coosa Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Armuchee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Armuchee came up short against Gordon Central and fell 59-52.

Trenton Cothran put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 29 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That was a full 55.8% of Armuchee's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyrik Wood, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coosa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 win over Gordon Lee on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since January 26, 2024.

Coosa's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Armuchee, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Things could have been worse for Armuchee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-43 loss to Coosa when the teams last played back in December of 2024.
