Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Greeley West Spartans

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will face off against the Greeley West Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mountain View kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. The game between the Mountain Lions and Brighton didn't end well, with the Mountain Lions falling 62-46.

Mountain View might have lost, but man, Cole Tonniges was a machine: he shot 53% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. Keizo Baxter was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Greeley West hadn't beaten Skyline on the road since December 3, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Spartans managed a 52-48 win over the Falcons.

Everything came up roses for Mountain View against Greeley West when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 95-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountain Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
