Basketball Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Citrus Hurricanes

The Lecanto Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Citrus 89-47 at home. Lecanto has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 37 points or more this season.

Lecanto got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jt Tipton out in front who scored 21 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Tipton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Christian McAboy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Lecanto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Citrus, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Lecanto won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Royal Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully River Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 43 last Thursday. As for Citrus, they will take on the Rattlers at TBD on Tuesday.
