Football Recap: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Silver Creek Black Knights

Fredonia had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They breezed past the Silver Creek Black Knights to the tune of 43-6. The Hillbillies' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Fredonia found their leader in sophomore Brianna Whitfield, who made two total tackles and defended five passes in addition to snagging four interceptionstwo of which were returned for touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Polhamus, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Fredonia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Whitfield and Polhamus. Whitfield is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another thorn in Silver Creek's side was Mikaela Sciarrino, who made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.
