Basketball Recap: Christopher Comes Up Short

Christopher was the 49-36 winner over Father McGivney Catholic when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Christopher Bearcats were outmatched by the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins and fell 54-24. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Father McGivney Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Ellis, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three steals. Peyton Ellis was another key player, going 7 for 13 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Christopher now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Christopher didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-23 defeat against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville on the 3rd. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 36-35 loss against Wesclin on the 4th.
