Basketball Recap: Crescent Comes Up Short

Crescent lost against Palmetto two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Crescent Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to the Palmetto Mustangs. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palmetto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skyler Ellison led the charge by putting up 15 points. Hope Allen was another key player, posting four points.

Crescent's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Palmetto, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Crescent Tigers challenge the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Crescent is facing Ninety Six at the right time seeing as Ninety Six is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Palmetto, they will welcome Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th.
