Softball Recap: Brookfield Falls Short of St. Joseph in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brookfield can now relate to. They fell 4-0 to the St. Joseph Cadets on Friday.

Sydney Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Brookfield nor St. Joseph have any future games scheduled.
