Baseball Recap: Lake Placid's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lake Placid's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Frostproof Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Diesel Taylor was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kaleb Zahller also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Lake Placid hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frostproof struck out nine times.

Lake Placid's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Frostproof, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Lake Placid will be playing in front of their home fans against Tenoroc at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frostproof, they will venture away from home to take on Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
