The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Erie nor Horizon made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Tigers skirted past the Hawks 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Peyton Watts tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Erie's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Muir, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Erie pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Erie will challenge Mead at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Horizon, they will take on Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
