Softball Recap: Santa Clara Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Santa Clara extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 13-9. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Palo Alto Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Bruins: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Rylan Morales (2028) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jasmine (Jazzy) Ramirez (2026), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

As for Palo Alto, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but Santa Clara's pitcher proved too tough.

On Palo Alto's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elle Martin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Clara will welcome Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palo Alto, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against MacDonald at 4:00 p.m. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Condor have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
