Basketball Recap: Chugiak Takes a Loss

Chugiak easily dispatched Eagle River last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Chugiak Mustangs fell just short of the Dimond Lynx by a score of 42-40 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-39 back in January.

Evan Hamey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dimond, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kinsey MacDonald, who posted five points and 11 boards.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Dimond, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Chugiak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-24 loss against Bartlett on the 21st. As for Dimond, they have also already played their next match, a 51-47 victory against West Anchorage on the 21st.
