Basketball Game Preview: Heights Falcons vs. Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Falcons face off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bishop Carroll likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Heights didn't have too much trouble with East as they won 62-47. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Aces are ranked 119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amalachi Wilkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 18 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. K'Mari Holt was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll came up short against Northwest on Friday and fell 67-56. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Heights' win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.6 points. As for Bishop Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Everything came up roses for Heights against Bishop Carroll in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 56-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
