Pope is a perfect 5-0 against Sprayberry since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Pope will host Sprayberry at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pope has six straight wins, Sprayberry has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

While Pope's victory against Sequoyah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Pope narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Sequoyah 2-1. Given Pope's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Sequoyah are ranked 219th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elizabeth Kelly and Lily Joswick scored both of Pope's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Woodstock who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Woodstock got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Sprayberry's three.

Sprayberry was without their leading scorer, Leah Trout, in Tuesday's game. With Trout sitting this one out, Jones Morgan got some extra time on the pitch (100 vs. her season average of 77).

Sprayberry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Pope, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Pope's way against Sprayberry in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Pope made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Pope repeat their success, or does Sprayberry has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
