Basketball Game Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Salisbury Hornets

West Rowan and Salisbury are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The West Rowan Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Salisbury Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Rowan is looking for their season's first win.

Last Wednesday, West Rowan had to suffer through a 69-38 loss at the hands of East Rowan. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 566th, while the Mustangs are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Salisbury challenged Lexington. in a bug-themed battle on Tuesday. Salisbury fell to Lexington 62-56.

West Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Salisbury, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for West Rowan against Salisbury in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 74-46 victory. Will West Rowan repeat their success, or does Salisbury have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
