Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

St. Mary lost against Campolindo back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Mary's Rams fell 62-53 to the Campolindo Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Cougars are ranked 95th).

Despite the loss, St. Mary's still got an impressive performance from Jayden Hinkston, who went 8 for 16 en route to 19 points. That's the most points Hinkston has posted since back in December of 2024. Jonah Millonida was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Ren Marchetti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Campolindo, going 7 of 17 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Beld, who posted eight points.

St. Mary's now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Campolindo, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

St. Mary's has already played their next game (against Lodi), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Campolindo has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against College Park.
