Baseball Recap: Sycamore's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Sycamore had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-14 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Batavia Bulldogs. This was payback for the Aviators, who suffered an 8-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

As for Batavia, their loss dropped their record down to 21-6. Having soared to a lofty 28 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Batavia's part, Brayden Schmittou was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Sycamore will face off against Little Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Aviators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Batavia, they will challenge La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
