Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Takes a Loss

Cedar Bluffs was the 72-67 winner over College View Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Eagles on Saturday, falling 64-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Bluffs lost, don't look at Carter Eiring. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That was a full 52.3% of the Wildcats' points, marking the tenth time in a row Eiring has earned more than a third of the team's points. Treyton Arnold was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

College View Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellan Krueger, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals. Those 13 points gave Krueger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Kunz, who put up eight points.

Cedar Bluffs' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for College View Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Cedar Bluffs will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmer at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. As for College View Academy, they will take on Dorchester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.31 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
