Baseball Recap: Riverdale Has No Trouble Against Monmouth-Roseville

Riverdale was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Monmouth-Roseville on Thursday. The Rams never let the Titans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The game marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.

Gaege Heinsen and Landen Peterson were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Heinsen didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Peterson tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Heinsen a new career-high. At the plate, Heinsen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Peterson scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Heinsen also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Colton Huffman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tyler Nadolson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Riverdale's record now sits at 5-6. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
