It was another big night for Rebekah Hartzell, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Taylor, who scored six points in addition to eight boards and six steals.
South Wake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, everything went South Guilford HomeSchool's way against Bluegrass United on Wednesday as South Guilford HomeSchool made off with a 49-23 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 28 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
South Guilford HomeSchool found their leader in sophomore Kourtney Bullins, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isa Bosch, who had 12 points.
South Guilford HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 35-4. As for South Wake, their win bumped their record up to 34-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Wake has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 boards per game. However, it's not like South Guilford HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
South Wake didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Guilford HomeSchool when the teams last played on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory.
