Baseball Recap: Desert Comes Up Short

If Desert was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Frazier Mountain on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scorpions fell 8-5 to the California City Ravens on Tuesday. The Scorpions have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Gavin Terndrup put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Desert's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for California City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert will welcome Kern Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for California City, they will be playing at home against Frazier Mountain at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
