Volleyball Recap: Acalanes Comes Up Short

Acalanes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ugly Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Acalanes couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 26-24, 25-14.

Zachari Modina was a one-man wrecking crew For Clayton Valley Charter. as he had 30 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Modina has posted since back in April of 2024.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Acalanes has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Las Lomas on the 20th. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Campolindo on the 20th.
