Basketball Game Preview: Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades vs. Bridger/Belfry

The Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades will square off against Bridger/Belfry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Reed Point/Rapelje has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 14.

Reed Point/Rapelje is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Plenty Coups on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Reed Point/Rapelje was outmatched by Plenty Coups and fell 70-27. The Renegades were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Landen Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 40.7% of Reed Point/Rapelje's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Ulmer, who earned 12 points.

Even though they lost, Reed Point/Rapelje smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Bridger/Belfry blew past Fromberg, posting a 53-24 victory. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for Bridger/Belfry this season.

Reed Point/Rapelje's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Bridger/Belfry, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
