Baseball Game Preview: Sandy Pioneers vs. David Douglas Scots

For the second straight game, Sandy will face off against David Douglas. The Pioneers will square off against the Scots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sandy has eight straight victories, David Douglas has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sandy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over David Douglas. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Sandy let Cooper Hibbs and Luke Hatton run wild. Hibbs went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Hatton went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Hibbs a new career-high. Kamden Luebbert also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Sandy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for David Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
