Basketball Recap: Woodward Takes a Loss

Woodward was the 83-35 winner over Northwest when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodward Bulldogs had to suffer through an 86-58 loss at the hands of the Northwest Knights. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Knights are ranked 187th).

Woodward's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Coming up, Woodward is taking a road trip to face off against Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hughes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches. As for Northwest, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gamble Montessori at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gamble Montessori has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
