Baseball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon fell victim to Carmel and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Avon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season. As for Carmel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Roncalli at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Orioles 3.3, the Royals 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Carmel, they will challenge Zionsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Greyhounds surely won't give up without a fight.
