Softball Recap: Atlantic City Vikings vs. Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors

The Atlantic City Vikings earned a 13-9 win over the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Kayla Barrie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Barrie was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nelly Sosa was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Andreanna Micali also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Atlantic City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Atlantic City's record now sits at 6-8. As for Camden County Vo-Tech, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Atlantic City will square off against Holy Spirit at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Camden County Vo-Tech, they will challenge Overbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
